Lisa Henderling

“I love what I do.”

Lisa Henderling has been drawing since childhood when she would hide under the piano and draw women with pink hair.  She knew she wanted to be an illustrator since the age of six.   Though her show business parents wanted her to continue in the family tradition, they soon realized that Lisa’s acting and dancing ability was more than questionable so they acquiesced to her begging for art lessons.

Lisa attended Art and Design High School and graduated from Fashion Institute of Technology with a degree in Fashion Illustration.   From that time on she has been in demand with top national and international clients for her fun, hip, and sophisticated style depicting women and teens that portray an attitude of confidence and cool.

Lisa has worked with an array of clients including Hasbro, Nordstrom, Jeep, Ritz Carlton, Master Card, American Express, Visa, Westin Hotels,  Hilton Hotels, Glaxco, Kimberly Clark, Borders, V8, Bic, Jergens, Gillette, Coors, Budweiser, Snapple,  Kay’s Jewelry, Dell, Hanes, Hallmark, Marcel Shurman, Good Morning America, Girl Scouts of America and more.

Her work for the new Macy’s in Tampa was used on billboards, point of purchase displays and various print ads. Florida’s Macys features her art on gift cards and advertising.  Lisa also did a series of tween diary covers for a new electronic toy concept for Leap Frog.  She illustrated GE’s True Confessions web site. Her illustrations were featured on the new Monopoly game for girls, Bop It, and Squabble.

Her editorial clients include Latina, Vibe, The Wall Street Journal, Readers Digest, Lucky, New York Times, NY Daily News, Family Circle, People Magazine, Self Magazine, Figure, USA Today and Natural Health.  Star Magazine now runs a weekly full-page illustration of Lisa’s and she has designed and illustrated their Christmas card for the last four years.

Lisa has developed the look of Shop Girl for Country Home Magazine which was featured monthly for three years.

Her publishing clients include Kensington, Harlequin, Penguin, Bet Books, St. Martins Press, Rodale Press, Scholastic, Red Dress Ink, Warner Books, and Quirk.

In addition to commissioned illustrations, a book highlighting the top talent in the illustration field, features Lisa and her work in the book “New Fashion Illustration” by Martin Dawber.

Lisa was among 15 illustrators chosen for the exhibit “Right Here in the USA” at the Eisner Museum. She has exhibited in the US at the Grasmere Gallery and the Talo. She is currently working on prints for a show in Coral Gables, Florida.

After living in New Orleans, Malibu, Mill Valley and Miami, Lisa now resides in a small historic town in upstate New York with her husband, son, cat and dog Ike, the cutest Corgi in the world. She works digitally in Adobe Illustrator and I can quote Lisa, “I love what I do.”
